McMurdo FastFind ReturnLink PLB – The first distress beacon with acknowledgment of receipt
In an emergency, uncertainty is the greatest enemy. The McMurdo FastFind ReturnLink PLB changes the rules of the game in maritime distress rescue: it is the world's first Personal Locator Beacon that signals to you that your distress call has been heard. As soon as your 406 MHz distress signal and your exact GNSS location coordinates have been received by the Cospas-Sarsat rescue network, a unique blue LED on the device lights up. This gives you vital psychological reassurance: you are not alone, help is on the way!
Precise localization thanks to state-of-the-art satellite technology The FastFind ReturnLink combines the proven Cospas-Sarsat MEOSAR system with simultaneous Galileo and GPS satellite positioning (Multi-GNSS). This ensures unprecedented fast and pinpoint accurate position determination worldwide. For the last meters of the rescue, the device also transmits a 121.5 MHz homing signal, so that arriving rescue teams can locate you with centimeter accuracy even in poor visibility or high seas.
Compact, robust and ready for immediate use This palm-sized device weighs only 164 grams and can be easily attached to belts, straps or life jackets thanks to its versatile attachment system. A protected, easily deployable antenna ("Safe-Stow") and an anti-tamper cover prevent accidental activation. With the included neoprene bag, the PLB is also buoyant.
The most important advantages at a glance:
- Return Link Service (RLS): Blue LED confirms successful reception of the emergency call by the rescue coordination center.
- Multi-Constellation GNSS: Uses Galileo and GPS satellites for the fastest and most accurate localization possible.
- Triple safety: Transmits 406 MHz (worldwide distress call), 121.5 MHz (local homing signal) and receives the RLS signal.
- No follow-up costs: Operation is completely free, there are no monthly or annual subscription fees.
- Visibility: Equipped with a bright LED flashing light that sends an SOS Morse signal.
- Waterproof & Buoyant: Absolutely waterproof to 10 meters depth; floats in combination with the included buoyancy bag.
