The Blue Sea BS 5034 fuse block from the ST series was specifically developed for complex electrical systems where available installation space is severely limited. It efficiently distributes power from a central positive stud (M5) to 12 separately fused circuits. Because this module dispenses with a removable protective cover, it features an extremely low-profile design. It is the ideal choice for integration into enclosed, touch-safe cabinets, behind fuse panels, or in splash-proof distribution boxes.
The decisive difference: Blue Sea 5034 by comparison Within the 12-circuit ST series, Blue Sea offers various versions. The BS 5034 model is the most purist variant: it does not include either a protective cover or an integrated negative busbar.
- Distinction from model BS 5029: The 5029 model also has no negative busbar, but is delivered with a transparent polycarbonate cover. The 5034 is the flatter and more cost-effective choice if the block is already situated securely behind a panel.
- Distinction from model BS 5031: The 5031 model, like the 5034, comes without a cover, but does have an integrated negative busbar. The BS 5034 is perfect if the ground wires of the loads in your system are already bundled at another point (e.g., a large central negative busbar) and only the positive power distribution is required at the block.
- Distinction from model BS 5026: This is the fully equipped version (with negative busbar and cover).
Robust marine quality despite reduced design Blue Sea Systems manufactures the base from flame-retardant, glass-reinforced polycarbonate. The current-carrying busbars are made of solid tin-plated copper, which offers extreme corrosion protection even in salty air and humidity. All terminal screws (#8-32) are equipped with captive star washers, ensuring a vibration-resistant and permanently secure hold for ring terminals, even under heavy engine and wave vibrations.
The most important advantages at a glance:
- Extremely low-profile design: Without a cover or negative busbar, it is ideal for installations with minimal mounting depth.
- Clear system architecture: Pure positive distribution for 12 circuits in networks with externalized ground.
- High performance: Fuses 12 separate circuits (max. 30A per branch / 100A total load).
- Marine-grade: Tin-plated copper busbars offer superior conductivity and long-term corrosion protection.
- Vibration-resistant: Robust terminal screws with integrated star washers.
