Maximum space savings for protected installations with the BS 5033
The Blue Sea BS 5033 fuse block from the ST series is designed for applications where every millimeter counts and an open installation is permissible. It efficiently distributes power from a central positive stud (M5) to six separately fused circuits. Since the module does not include a removable protective cover, it offers an extremely low profile and is the first choice for installation behind closed fuse panels, in splash-proof distribution boxes, or in inaccessible control cabinets.
The decisive difference: Blue Sea 5033 in comparison
Within the Blue Sea ST series, there are various 6-circuit blocks. The BS 5033 model is the most minimalist version: It dispenses with both a protective cover and an integrated negative busbar.
-
Distinction from model BS 5028: The 5028 model also has no negative busbar, but is supplied with a transparent polycarbonate cover. The 5033 is the more compact choice if the block is already located behind a panel and a cover would only be in the way.
-
Distinction from model BS 5030: The 5030 model also comes without a cover, but has an integrated negative busbar. The BS 5033 is ideal if the consumers' ground cables are already being collected elsewhere (e.g., at a separate ground busbar) and only the positive distribution takes place at the block.
-
Distinction from model BS 5025: This is the fully equipped version (with negative busbar and with cover).
Advantages of the Blue Sea Systems BS 5033
Despite its reduced design, the block offers the usual premium quality of Blue Sea Systems. The base is made of flame-retardant, reinforced polycarbonate. The current-carrying busbars are made of heavy-duty tinned copper, which provides extreme corrosion protection in humid or saline environments. The M4 terminal screws (#8-32) are equipped with captive star washers, which ensure a vibration-resistant and permanently secure hold for the ring terminals, even during the strongest engine and shaft vibrations.
The most important advantages at a glance:
- Ultra-compact: Without a cover or negative busbar, ideal for extremely tight spaces.
- Clear structure: Serves as a pure positive distribution for networks with outsourced ground point.
- Powerful: Protects 6 separate circuits (max. 30A per output / 100A total).
- Marine-grade: Tinned copper busbars offer superior conductivity and corrosion protection.
- Vibration-resistant: Robust terminal screws with integrated star washers.
