Blue Sea BS 3002 "Heavy Duty" 4-position battery master switch for diesel and gasoline engines. The switch is gas-tight and suitable for two batteries / battery banks.
KEY FEATURES
- Switches isolated battery banks to all loads or combines battery banks with all loads
- Accepts two 4/0 AWG (95mm²) battery cables
- Ignition protected for installation on board a gasoline-powered boat
- Housing design allows surface mounting or panel mounting
TECHNICAL DETAILS
- Switch positions: 4 - Batt.1/Batt.2/Batt. 1+2/OFF
- Battery combining: yes
- Color: grey
- Alternator Field Disconnect (AFD): No (Disconnect switch protects the diodes in the alternator when the switch is turned OFF with the engine running. If the disconnect switch is not used to protect the alternator, an LED can be connected to the AFD terminals to indicate when the battery switch is in any position other than OFF.)
- Maximum voltage: 32V DC
- Terminal stud torque: 24.86 Nm
- Continuous current: 500 Amps.
- Peak current: 700 Amps (5 min.)
- Cranking current 30 sec.: 1600 Amps. The current required by the starter before the engine starts. Cranking current varies significantly during the starting cycle. Initially, there is a large surge of current required to overcome the inertia and compression of the engine. This surge can be two to four times the average cranking current. Cranking current is used for sizing batteries, cables, and battery switches.
